What is happening with transparency in our democratic process? Pop-up meet and greet at Willingdon Beach compared to a planned meeting at Tla’amin Nation does not equate [“NDP leader talks pharmacare, child care during visit to qathet,” March 7].
Where was the planned meet with the elected officials of the City of Powell River?
In 2015, I went to a planned event at Town Centre Hotel where Tom Mulcair, then leader of the federal NDP (who took leadership after the untimely death of Jack Layton), introduced a new face in the federal NDP. Her name was Rachel Blaney [current North Island-Powell River MP].
The meeting went very well and even though Blaney was obviously just beginning her public speaking, she still showed promise with her compassion and composure whilst talking to the open invitation meeting that was publicly announced well in advance of the event.
What happened, Rachel?
