The supportive housing project that now houses a pile of people is so poorly managed that it is a joke. I know care workers, paramedics and police officers who dread going into this place on a daily basis.
The smell of drugs in there is disgusting. I totally support low-income housing for people who are trying to get better (like the one behind the hospital), however, most of the tenants who are staying there are nothing but trouble. Since this place has been built, crimes in Powell River have gone crazy.
They need a full-time manager in there who will be able to stand up and stop all the crap. Don’t even think of building another place like this [“BC Housing wants to locate second supportive housing structure in City of Powell River,” March 7].
Give your head a shake BC Housing, City of Powell River and our elected city council.
