Letter: What a pity

"Mr. Gisborne tried to show his pecuniary abilities in keeping costs down by voting against the rise in annual stipends to members of the qathet Regional District board"
letter_to_editor

Regarding [Electoral Area B director Mark] Gisborne’s comments on pay structure in elected officials, Mr. Gisborne tried to show his pecuniary abilities in keeping costs down by voting against the rise in annual stipends to members of the qathet Regional District board [“qathet Regional District directors’ remuneration will increase, December 21”].

What a pity he never showed similar abilities when he took the regional board and Area C director Clay Brander to court and lost both cases, so the cost to qathet region taxpayers was about $125,000.

You could have saved us all a lot of money and time there, Mr. Gisborne.
