Letter: Elders deserve respect

Thank you for publishing Richard Montagna's letter [“Viewpoint: Seniors are the solution to economic problems,” April 25].

It clearly demonstrates our value to our local elected leaders. Who knows? One day they may give us creaky elders the respect we so clearly deserve. We must be the most cost-effective job creators in the province.

Surely it also shows a lost opportunity for our NDP provincial government elected leaders; one where they massively increase the miserable pittance they give us for our provincial OAS pensions. Given our economic wealth contribution to these communities, it would give them more votes in small communities across BC, where undeservedly low-income seniors are forced to migrate to because we can no longer afford to live, where we had to get a job in big cities, because the cost of housing is too high.

Is that a pink elephant I see flying by?
