Letter: Health or hockey?

City of Powell River councillor Jim Palm appears to be frozen in time [“COVID-19 affects City of Powell River finances,” May 25].

Expressing concern over the return of hockey during a global pandemic that is not even an iota close to being over with conveys a bad optic.

We have a family member (Jack Thompson) poised to be drafted into the National Hockey League next month, and his priority right now before donning the blades again is the health, safety and well-being of society at large.

Perhaps Mr. Palm could learn a life lesson on prioritization through the lens of an 18 year old.

Here’s hoping.
