Letter: Whose head is in the sand?

I must confess that I have personal bias and beliefs. I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t. Maybe Steve Short is the exception that proves the rule [“Letters: Head in the sand,” April 4].

Patrick Moore put his life on the line as a former Greenpeace activist.  Short appears to denigrate Moore for his support of the nuclear industry. This is odd as the nuclear industry is the only scale alternative to fossil fuels.

Short goes on to say that releasing carbon into the atmosphere “has a devastating effect on the planet’s life systems.” Where is the evidence for that zinger?

Has he ever examined the geological record or even looked at the NASA photographs of Earth showing an increase greening because of increasing CO2 levels?
