Poll: Majority of respondents plan to vote against borrowing for new fire hall in Powell River

RECOMMENDATIONS PASSED: City council has voted to put forward a referendum question for the October 2022 municipal election, seeking voter assent to build a new fire hall/emergency services facility at 7160 Duncan Street.

The Peak polled 709 readers and asked the question: Will you be voting in favour of City of Powell River possibly borrowing up to $7.5 million for construction of a new fire hall?

The poll ran from 6/3/2022 to 6/10/2022. Of the 709 votes, we can determine that 492 are from within the community. The full results are as follows:
