Student Life: Stuck between a rock and a hard place

We’ve all felt stuck, like we’re trapped between a rock and a hard place and there’s no escape. We’ve felt the mundane crash over and over and over us for too long, and drive us to the point where we want to pull our hair out.

We’ve all felt stuck, like we’re trapped between a rock and a hard place and there’s no escape.

We’ve felt the mundane crash over and over and over us for too long, and drive us to the point where we want to pull our hair out. We’ve gotten caught up in a routine that won’t allow any deviation.

There’s an overwhelming sense that something is missing in our lives and we might have to make a “radical’’ decision to change it. Especially as teens and young adults who are just starting to find their way in the game of life, we see a lot of these instances.

Usually, it’s that leap of faith: the nerve-racking choice to quit a job, make a changeup socially, or to drop out of university to pursue our dreams. It’s the want we feel deep inside our gut, the desire to take ourselves one step closer to success.

But all that can be terrifying. We’re letting go of stability for a momentary free fall, not sure if we’ll land on our feet or not.

However, no matter how difficult or unnerving the choice might be, sometimes it’s necessary so we can move forward. We may stumble a bit, but we have to do what’s right for us and keep ourselves in our best interest.
