Anyone looking for the perfect blend of west coast, small town living and big city luxury in Powell River is in luck.

Pacific Point Condos, one of Powell River’s most anticipated housing developments, is going into its pre-sales phase and offering homes not yet seen before on the Upper Sunshine Coast.

When complete, Pacific Point Condos, located at Tofino Street and Joyce Avenue, will feature 23 modern ocean-view suites showcasing a contemporary design as well as mountain and ocean views, and add three units of sidewalk-level commercial real-estate space to the Grief Point area.

The suites, ranging from 850 to 2,000 square feet in size, will be built to be energy-efficient up to a Green Gold standard and offer owners long term savings on water, electricity and natural gas use. Project developers have launched a website to allow potential buyers an opportunity to examine the project’s eight unique floor plans.

“Pacific Point Condos is not unique in provincial building projects but it will be the first of its size and style that has been built in Powell River,” says Tod English, one of the principal owners of the project. “After finishing Pacific Point Market and seeing the transformation happening in Powell River we are excited to be able to be a small part in the development of our community and bring this next phase to life.”

This project has been a collaboration of many people, says English.

“John Spick has been fantastic in his approach, design and vision for this entire property and in some ways, the gateway to Powell River for southbound traffic entering Westview,” he adds. “John and his team have painted the vision for the look and feel of this new build and what it would mean to live there.”

The project is being built in the heart of Grief Point, one of Powell River’s most sought-after neighbourhoods, according to English. The condos are adjacent to Pacific Point Market, Powell River’s newest grocery store, and Serious Coffee. Public beaches are within a short stroll and Myrtle Point Golf Club, a championship 18-hole Les Furber-designed course, is only a short five-minute drive away.

Pacific Point Condos features large covered decks with west coast design, exposed timber construction and great ocean views, perfect for year-round entertaining, says English. The building, once complete, will be fully accessible for wheelchairs and include an elevator and keyless FOB entry.

The building will also feature underground parking, electric charging for vehicles and additional storage units. Each of the 23 suites will be heated and cooled through a ductless, split-air conditioning and heating system, and to reduce noise transfer, the building is being built with concrete topping on all floors and will have additional soundproofing between suites.

On the inside, project developers have brought in award-winning Victoria-based boutique interior design firm Jenny Martin Design to ensure no detail is left out. The building features nine-foot raised ceilings on the first two floors and a 10-foot exposed wood ceiling on the third. Flooring in the suites is wide-plank engineered wood in a range of tones from light to dark to suit the buyer, and lighting throughout is designer selected. Kitchens include wraparound cabinets with soft-close doors and drawers, premium stainless steel appliances, including a gas range and dishwasher, full ceramic tile backsplashes, and quartz granite counters with an island bathed in light from overhead pendant fixtures.

Bathrooms feature in-floor heating, oversized showers with ceramic tile and glass doors, and double sinks in the ensuites. The suites also include a set of full-sized high-efficiency clothes washers and dryers.

These condos offer significant benefits for buyers who are willing to buy during the pre-sales phase, says English. “The earlier you buy, we feel, the better the value. Plus, early buyers get the proverbial pick of the litter when choosing which suite they want.”
