Frenchie’s Pressure Washing and Yard Work owners Sarah Wilson and Guy Pouliot are entering their fourth year of business in Powell River and are excited with the start of their busy season. Each year has been better than the last and they give credit to the community for their continued success.

“Having that in mind, we want to remind people it’s better to contact us ahead of time,” says Sarah. “As weather improves and days become longer we get booked up very quickly.”

The business has four different pressure washers, including two industrial Landa hot water machines and two portable commercial pressure washers, varying from 3.5 to six gallons per minute.

“The average store-bought pressure washers have high PSI, but low volume, and can potentially cause serious damage in the wrong hands,” says Guy. “We can get a job done in a third of the time compared to doing it yourself and our equipment uses a lot less water. Also, the results last longer.”

Those who live in rural areas with wells or with water restrictions will be pleased to hear the business can carry water to the job site.

“We have holding tanks with a 1,500-litre capacity in our big van, which is plenty enough for the average job,” says Guy. “With our different tools and equipment, we can perform different types of jobs in a timely matter so customers don’t have to wait too long.”

Popular services the business provides include roof demossing, which is an important way for homeowners to protect and maintain their investment.

Frenchie’s does not pressure wash asphalt shingle roofs, but uses a softwash treatment that kills the moss and its rhizome, which is the root of the moss. It is a non-invasive treatment with results likely to last, on average, for three years.

Other services available include pressure washing of house siding, driveways and concrete surfaces, all types of decks, boats, equipment and lots more.

While Guy is busy with pressure washing, Sarah works in local gardens and yards with her regular clients. She is not taking on any new customers for these services at the moment, but is still booking for lawn aerating and dethatching.

“We work hard and take a lot of pride in our work, and love to see the end results,” says Sarah. “We are very grateful for everyone’s support.”
