Twelve years ago, Tye Leishman had an idea to start a local business focused on providing the best customer service, employing the highest trained technicians and supporting the community as a whole. Tempco, Powell River’s Heating & Cooling Specialists, was born and continues to be successful.
Many customers initially think Tempco is a franchise, however, it is 100 per cent Powell River owned, operated and independent, says Tye.
Whether customers are considering upgrading an existing home heating system, looking to add air conditioning to their home for the summer heat or having their existing heating system tuned up and inspected to be ready for next winter, Tempco has been a trusted choice of Powell River homeowners for more than 12 years.
Tempco has been helping homeowners save money and improve the comfort of their homes by upgrading existing heating systems and air conditioning with the installation of high efficient heat pumps, natural gas furnaces and Regency gas fireplaces, including Rinnai natural gas tankless hot water heaters.
Tempco is the factory authorized experts in Powell River for York, Regency, Fujitsu and Mitsubishi high efficient heating and cooling systems and can provide expert service and repairs to all manufacturers’ models.
Tye is extremely proud of the highly trained expertise and capability of the team members, including Matt McDowell, Colin Turner, Dean Merrick, Tristan Pope, André Huiberts, Jeff Tucker, Mike D’onofrio, Matthew Van Tol, Dayton Deglan, Jeanette Haas, Crystal Burnett and Paige Stephens.
Tempco HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) technicians are expertly trained to handle any heating, air conditioning or commercial refrigeration requirements. Company qualifications include government Red Seal-certified tradesmen, including refrigeration journeymen, electrical journeymen and gas fitters.
“Being an electrical contractor enables us to complete a variety of different jobs from start to finish, without the need to hire outside subcontractors,” explains Tye.
Jeanette takes care of the accounting components of the business while Crystal, Breanna and Paige are the ones to talk to when customers are in need of service.
“We know having the right people on the job is just as important as choosing the right equipment,” says Tye.
With energy efficiency and rising energy costs on everyone’s minds these days, Tempco offers many choices for upgrading existing heating systems with attractive homeowner rebates. FortisBC is offering a $1,700 rebate for customers who convert their primary heating source from oil, propane or wood to natural gas and install both an eligible ENERGY STAR® natural gas heating system and a natural gas water heating system. BC Hydro has a rebate of $800 on select ductless air-source heat pumps.
Until May 31, 2018, Fujitsu is offering an Instant Home Owner Rebate of up to $750 for qualifying heat pumps. This offer is independent of the BC Hydro Home Renovation Rebate program for heat pumps. When combined with the $800 BC Hydro Home Renovation Rebate, customers can receive up to $1,550 in rebates.
Because of the mild West Coast climate, Powell River is one the best locations for an air-source heat pump. Tempco offers two types of heat pumps: forced air units, using existing air ducts, and also ductless units that can be installed in homes to replace
existing inefficient electric baseboard heaters.
