An upcoming Rock ’n’ Roll Trivia night at That Sugar Vault is sure to test your musical smarts, with food and drink specials to make the night even better.
One of many upcoming events at the licensed lounge and restaurant located near River City Coffee, Rock ’n’ Roll Trivia is the brainchild of longtime radio DJ and self-proclaimed music expert Zane Sampson.
Sampson recently launched the trivia series after suggesting the idea to That Sugar Vault co-owner Amy Sharp. A debut trivia night in November featured different categories, but Sampson says he is especially excited for the rock and roll version.
“I’m really excited about this one. The general trivia was a lot of fun, but I’m really looking forward to the rock and roll trivia because it is my forte,” says Sampson. “The trivia nights are really laid back and there’s no pressure, and the winning teams in each round win some prizes.”
Sampson says participants for the free event don’t need to be rock and roll experts to play, and people are encouraged to come and watch if they don’t think they will know the answers. However, many will be surprised, he says.
“There are some harder questions, but that’s all relative because even at the last trivia some of questions I thought would be easier weren’t, and some of the ones I thought would be hard were no-brainers,” says Sampson.
Sharp says That Sugar Vault is planning to host regular trivia nights among the lounge’s many other special events. The business’ motto is “inclusiveness” and a full menu including desserts is available Wednesday to Sundays from 4 pm until late.
“We are a licensed restaurant that serves food late and is fun for families earlier in the evening,” says Sharp, “but also fun for people who enjoy socializing and eating late.”
Other That Sugar Vault events during December include an Ed Wood Sexy Sweater Club night on December 16, Murder Mystery Dinner with host Kyle Auclair on December 17 and New Year’s Eve Glow in the Dark Party on December 31.
