Avoid the hassle of online shopping this holiday season and head south of town to find some of the most heartfelt, unique and curated gifts in Powell River, says Nicole Fraser, owner of Westerly Studio Gifts, Décor and Design.
Westerly Studio is best described as a store that “is fun to browse, where you can find something you really want to have and buy a gift that someone will love,” says Nicole.
Westerly Studio, located 10 minutes south of town at 9398 Highway 101, is a one-stop holiday gift supply shop. Customers can come by the shop on November 28 and 29 to see what is in store for Black Friday.
“You can find products from all over the world, including over 20 Canadian brands and European-made goods,” adds Nicole. “I have gorgeous blankets still made in Germany that would make a beautiful Christmas gift. You can just feel the quality and will enjoy it for many years.”
Gifts and stocking stuffers range in price and customers are sure to find something special whether spending $20 or $200, says Nicole.
“I do have higher-end, well-made pieces, but I really have something perfect for everyone’s gift budgets,” she adds.
Nicole, who moved to Powell River with her husband Bryce over a decade ago, opened Westerly Studio last year. She says she is thankful for all the support that Powell River has provided for her and is looking forward to many more years of service.
Nicole goes out of her way to search for the perfect items to sell in her shop. She is always looking and searching for the most unique and high-quality items.
Nicole says it is her pleasure to be able to share her passion for beautiful things and help connect her customers with one-of-a-kind gifts that speak to a woman’s heart.
Westerly Studio sells more than 20 Canadian brands, including artisan wearables such as socks, robes and sweaters. One being Smash and Tess rompers, which she says have been selling very well. She also has brought in several lines of items, especially for the holidays.
“Westerly Studio is great for guys who are looking for a one-of-a-kind gift for the lady in their life,” says Nicole. “This is an easy place to come and get a gift that will show you care and make an impact.”
She adds that one of the things she hears most from her customers is: “My husband should know, I would love anything from here.”
Nicole also offers interior design styling, which has become a busy component of Westerly Studio.
Helping clients make decisions based on their own design tastes is satisfying for both her clients and Nicole, she says.
“I feel like I now have a clear vision,” is a statement she often hears from her clients and confirms that even though she is starting more home design work, her business is coming together in the right direction, she says.
Nicole says in addition to finding the perfect gift at her shop, shopping locally at Westerly helps keep more local money circulating in Powell River.
“Owning a small business, I try to shop locally,” she says. “Where people choose to spend their money can make a real difference in the community.”
Westerly Studio is open from 11 am to 4 pm Wednesday and Thursday, and from 11 am to 5 pm on Friday and Saturday.
