Powell River Kings hosted and defeated Victoria Grizzlies for a second consecutive night on Saturday, November 23, at Hap Parker Arena.
Reilly Moran, Ethan Schmunk, Brett Roloson, Hunter McCoy and Brett Pfoh scored for the home team in the 5-3 win, improving its record on the season to 13 wins and 14 losses.
With the win, fourth-place Powell River increased its lead over Victoria to 10 points in BC Hockey League Island Division standings. Grizzlies fell to 8-21 and have now lost nine of their last 10 games.
Kings exploded for four goals in the second period after each team scored once prior to the first intermission.
Victoria scored two goals in the third period to round out the scoring.
Thomas Wardle stopped 26 shots to earn the win for Powell River. Victoria goaltender Joe Howe made 32 saves.
Attendance was 685.
Kings begin a three-game road trip in Chilliwack on Thursday, November 28.
Powell River plays in West Kelowna the following night, followed by a game in Prince George on Sunday, December 1.
