Powell River Therapeutic Riding Association holds its annual silent auction from 11 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 12 to 4 pm on Sunday during Powell River Fall Fair at Paradise Exhibition Grounds, 4356 Myrtle Avenue. The auction closes at 4 pm Sunday. All proceeds go toward the care of the association’s therapy horses.

Intergenerational Summer Program

Seniors Together Program topic this month will discuss the Powell River Child, Youth and Family Services Intergenerational Summer Program, followed by catered lunch by The Convenient Chef. Zunga Warriors Final Fling

Zunga Warriors mixed dragon boat team hosts the Final Fling at Mowat Bay with six teams, including Paddling for Life and Texada Rock and Rollers, taking part in six races in total. It is a green event so anyone planning to eat should bring cups, plates and utensils. Zunga Juices’ food truck will be onsite providing smoothies and tacos. Come on out and support local paddlers. Start time is 9:30 am.

Powell River Therapeutic Riding Association Silent Auction takes place from 11 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 11 am to 4 pm on Sunday at the indoor arena, 4356 Myrtle Avenue. This is the association’s annual fundraiser. Final bids on items will be at 4 pm on Sunday.

Sunday, September 16

Terry Fox Run registration opens at 8:30 am at Powell River Recreation Complex, lower level; the run starts at 10 am. Choose the 10 kilometre or 3.5 kilometre route to run, walk, cycle or skate. Participants and volunteers can also enjoy a free pancake breakfast sponsored by Save-On-Foods after the run.
