International Choral Kathaumixw’s popular folk and traditional competition takes place from 9-11 am Friday, July 8, in the Great Hall at Powell River Recreation Complex. Members of each participating choir wear their national dress. Also competing are vocal soloists, maximum 21 years old, and children’s choirs. Admission is free.

 

International Choral Kathaumixw’s final Promenade Concert takes place at 11 am Friday, July 8, at Spirit Square on the Wharf at Westview, and features the Richmond Singers from Canada and Wah Yan College Kowloon Boys Choir from China. Admission is free.

Concert Band

Powell River Community Concert Band, directed by Roy Carson, meets 7:30-9 pm Thursdays in the Brooks Secondary School band room, 5400 Marine Avenue.
