FRESH PAINT: Joan Martisca, one of Texada Island Dragon Boat Club’s coaches and founding members, brushes a ceremonial orange dot onto the portside dragon’s eye of the club’s dragon boat during a naming ceremony on Saturday, June 29, at Texada Boating Club.

Both dragons were painted this spring by resident artist Doby Dobrostanski for one of the Sunshine Coast’s newest teams.
