Due to current snowy weather in Powell River, Westview Elementary School is closing at 1 pm today, according to an email to parents.
Buses will run as normal starting at 1 pm. Students from Texada have been picked up and will take the next ferry home.
Parents can pick up their children at the school any time from now, according to the email.
According to Powell River Board of Education, as a safety precaution, School District 47 buses will start running at 1 pm today. Bus students are being dismissed early.
Schools will remain open, however, and parents are welcome to pick up their children early.
The elementary after-school program at Henderson Elementary School is cancelled.
