A medical emergency on a BC Ferries vessel has resulted in sailing delays on the Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay route.
Early Wednesday, BC Ferries posted to social media that one of its customers required immediate medical attention and that the vessel had to return to Tsawwassen.
No further details about the person's condition are being released.
This resulted in the 6 a.m. sailing of the Queen of New Westminster from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay being delayed and pushed the 10 a.m. sailing 73 minutes behind schedule.
"We expect the 12 p.m. departing Swartz Bay, the 2 p.m. departing Tsawwassen, and the 4 p.m. departing Swartz Bay to also be delayed," BC Ferries said in an update on its website.
"Your patience is appreciated and we apologize for any inconvenience you may experience as a result of this delay. We wish our fellow passenger a speedy recovery," the statement continued.
Travellers are advised to check the BC Ferries website for updates.
