Environment Canada, is calling for a 40 per cent chance of rain on the lower Sunshine Coast today, May 7, with that likelihood tapering off to 30 per cent tomorrow. The clouds are forecast to stay with us through to the weekend, but the rains will take a hiatus until Sunday.
Winds today in the Sechelt area are expected to come in from the northwest at 20 kilometres per hour (km//h) with gusts of up to 40 km/h. By tomorrow evening, the winds will scale back to 8 km/h.
Conditions are expected to be cooler than yesterday, when daytime highs hovered around 20 degrees C, with Weatherhood predicting daytime highs of 16 degrees today and between 13 and 17 degrees each day until Sunday, which is Mother's Day. The call is for a 71 per cent chance of rain by Sunday, but the accumulation expected for that day is only 2 millimetres.
