An entry from Nancy’s Bakery was voted as the winner at the 17th annual Chowder Challenge last month in Lund.

The fire hall in Lund was filled with merriment and seafood chowders last month.

On May 24, chowder challenge attendees sampled all the chowders and voted for their favourite one, ate salads, desserts, and had beer or wine with their meal.

Chowders were donated by the Boardwalk Restaurant, The Chopping Block, River City Coffee, Convenient Chef, Lund Community Society, Nancy’s Bakery and Rosemary Lane & Company. It was a close contest but winning the People’s Choice that evening was Nancy’s Bakery.

Northside Fire Department members formed a small band, calling themselves “Fuel Fighters”, and entertained everyone with a wide variety of tunes.

The annual fundraiser for Northside Fire Department Association was well-attended and thoroughly enjoyed by all, according to organizers, who want to thank volunteer firefighters for donating their time to this worthy cause.
