On this day:
In 1767, Jean-Baptiste Denys, physician to King Louis XIV of France, administered the first human blood transfusion by putting sheep's blood into a 15-year-old boy.

In 1969, Hee Haw, a variety show featuring a mixture of country music and comedy skits, made its television debut.

In 2011, Vancouver Canucks fell 4-0 at home to the Boston Bruins in game seven of the Stanley Cup final and, as a result, lost the series four games to three.

The Wednesday, June 15, forecast calls for increasing cloudiness early in the morning, a 40 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon and a high of 15 degrees Celsius. The evening is expected to be cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a low of nine degrees.
