Good morning, Peak readers

Photo feature of the day, today in history, and the weather forecast

Happy Thursday!

Second-time Photo of the Day contributor Tracey Hawryluk submitted two shots taken during an evening at Mowat Bay near the end of June. We couldn’t pick a favourite between the two, so both are part of today’s feature.

To submit a picture for Photo of the Day consideration, send it via email to [email protected] with the subject line “Photo of the Day.” Remember to include where and when you took the picture, what it is and your name (we want to give you credit). Horizontal photos are preferred.

On this day:
In 1947, the impact of an object crashing near Rosewell, New Mexico, caused speculations that it was an extraterrestrial spacecraft containing alien life forms.
