In 1908, in his eighth title defence, Canadian world heavyweight boxing champion Tommy Burns knocked out Englishman Jack Palmer, in London, England, in the fourth round.

In 1964, singer/songwriter Bob Dylan released his album: The Times They Are A-Changin.

In 2014, Canadian freestyle skier Alexandre Bilodeau repeated as Olympic champion in moguls, winning the gold medal in Sochi, Russia.
