In 14 CE, following the death of Caesar Augustus, who was also know as Octavian, the Roman Senate officially confirmed Tiberius as the second emperor of the Roman Empire.

In 1970, guitar legend and singer Jimi Hendrix died in London. He was 27.

In 1993, Anaheim Ducks made their National Hockey League debut versus Pittsburgh Penguins.
