In 1978, for their efforts to bring peace between their two countries, the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Egyptian president Anwar Sadat and Israeli prime minister Menachem Begin.

In 2004, ending an 86 year drought, Boston Red Sox won the World Series by defeating St. Louis Cardinals 3-0 in game four of the best-of-seven Maor League Baseball championship series.
