Hockey fans scramble for loonies in Powell River (VIDEO)

$10,000 up for grabs during second intermission

Powell River Kings Hockey Club held its annual Loonie Scramble night on Friday, January 31, during the second intermission of a BC Hockey League game against Cowichan Valley Capitals.

Using a variety of strategies, 13 lucky participants (there were two no-shows) collected approximately $2,700 worth of the 10,000 loonies spread between the two bluelines at Hap Parker Arena.

Participants had one minute to pick up as many loonies as possible.

Powell River won the game 7-0.
