How the Donkey Described Christmas

Claire Statham, Grade 3
Powell River Christian School

Hi, my name is Donkey. I’m going to tell you about the first Christmas a long time ago.

I was Joseph’s donkey and I had to carry Mary, so we were on a trip to Bethlehem and there were lots of new smells, and it was dusty.

I heard that Mary and Joseph were going to have a baby and that an angel came to her and told her she was going to have the son of God. And I also heard that Joseph had a dream that he would marry Mary and that she would have the son of God.

So, when they got to Bethlehem all the hotels and the one they booked were full. But the man said you can stay in the barn with the animals, and they said, “Yes, thank you.”

So I rushed to the barn and the baby was born. And shepherds came and admired Jesus and wise men gave us gold, myrrh and frankincense, but I do not know what a baby could use that for.

I heard angels singing, “Holy to God in the highest and peace on earth for all.”

It startled me and it was such a special time. I was so proud to be there at that moment, that was the most beautiful thing ever.

Magic in the air

Grayson Wilson-Tilberg, Grade 3
Henderson Elementary School

It was Christmas and the little boys and girls were building snowmen. Magic was in the air.

Then the snowmen came alive and started dancing with the boys and girls! Then they saw Santa.

All the little boys and girls ran out to see Santa, and all of a sudden

Santa flew away in the sleigh.

A snowstorm started blowing everything away. All of the children ran inside. They looked under the tree and saw the presents.

"Now can we open the presents?" they said. "Yes," said their mother, and then they opened the presents. And then they ate dinner and went to sleep.

The end.

Snowmans are fun

Emma Lang, Grade 3
Kelly Creek Community School

When it snows I make a snowman. They are cool to play with.

So fun to play with so I went to my friend’s house and we made a snowman, a mini snowman at Scarlett’s, and they have a lot of dogs when it is Christmas.

Santa came and gave presents under the tree.

The end.

Christmas Story

Arend Delport, Grade 3
Powell River Christian School

One cold snowy morning, Checkers the penguin woke up screaming. "It is Christmas! It is Christmas!"

He woke up his parents. He ran downstairs to look in his stocking. He got a toy car and a Bible.

"I love it," said Checkers.

"It is time to bake cookies," said his mom.

"Yay!" said Checkers.

They made gingerbread cookies.

"I love cooking!" he said.

They decorated the Christmas tree.

“I want to put the star on top," said Checkers.

"Time to open the presents," said his dad.

“Yay!" said Checkers. He got a Lego set.

Checkers and his dad had a snowball fight. Checkers made a lot of snowballs and threw every one.

"I like snowball fights," said Checkers.

"It is time for dinner," said his mom. They had a feast.

"Yummy," said Checkers.

They went sledding. Checkers went down a big hill. He loved to go sledding. It was a lot of fun.

"Time for the Christmas movie," said Checkers’ dad.

"Yay," said Checkers. "I love movies. Let's make popcorn."

They watched Elf.

"Time for bed," said his mom.

That was the best Christmas ever.

The end.
