E.A. (Ernie) Harper - December 8, 1921 - October 5, 2015

Ernie has finally been reunited with Annett, who predeceased him in 2008 after 58 years of marriage. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and later moved to Powell River with his family. Ernie served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a radio operator and played trumpet in the Air Force band. He returned to Powell River and became a pipe-fitter until he retired in September 1984.

Ernie had a lifelong passion for Morse code and amateur radio. His call sign was VE7 CZW and he made contacts throughout the world. Everyone knew his house by his four antenna towers. Ernie was a unique character with a great sense of humour and always had a good story to tell. He is survived by his daughters Karen (Richard), Shereen (Paul), his five grandchildren Melody (Jeremy), Lorelei (Kelly), Ashley, Steven and Kevin and his three greatgrandsons Charlie, Leo and Will.

Special thanks to the wonderful staff of Evergreen Extended Care for the loving care you gave to Dad. No service by request.

Harry “Ole” Gust Wikman - July 13, 1927 - October 9, 2015

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our dear dad, grandfather and uncle, Harry, who passed peacefully at home. He was predeceased by his wife Louise (2008), and will be greatly missed by his children Steve (Judy), Anne (Dennis), grandchildren Eric and Tasha, and great-grandson Carter. Dad also leaves to mourn his niece Lynne (Bill) Kaschl of Calgary, Alberta, great-nieces Rhonda (Rick) Schanke, and daughters Ashleigh and Brittany and Reenie (Dean) Saari, all of Powell River, cousin Richard (Maureen) Berg of Thunder Bay, Ontario, and many dear friends.

A celebration of life for Harry will be held Saturday, November 7 at 1:30 pm at Texada Island Legion Branch 232 in Van Anda.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Texada Health Centre cancer support or St. Paul’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated.

Very special thanks to Doctors Kevin Black and Henriette Strydom for their support and care of dad during his illness; nurses Roxanna, Maureen and Susan for their care and compassion; and to his home care workers, Frances, Sandra, Mich, Sara, Nicky and Rose.

He was very fond of all of you, enjoyed your company and appreciated your kindness and excellent care.

Duilio “Dick” Biasutti - September 23, 1931 - October 13, 2015

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear father Duilio. He was born and raised in Powell River, and as a millworker for over 35 years he lived his life with passion and his family always came first. Dick had such a style and charm about him. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years Agnes, and is survived by his children Rick (Peggy), Andrea (Terry), grandchildren Bryce and Wade who were the light of his life, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He accepted every challenge in life with courage and was an inspiration to us all.

We thank Doctor Meyer and the nurses on the fourth floor for their kindness, support, and compassionate care for Dick during his illness. Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, October 24 at 1 pm at Church of the Assumption, 7109 Glacier Street, Powell River. We find comfort in knowing he is with our mother again.
