Photo potpourri flows over

Exhibit shows passion for nature

Malaspina Art Society will host an exhibit of photography and fine art called Photo Potpourri by Gerry Chabot.

Chabot grew up in Quebec and became fascinated by nature. He developed photography as a hobby and tends never to be without camera.

Having moved to Powell River, he finds the area has “an abundance of subjects to take pictures of.” He can be found out in the fields, along mountain trails or walking along the seashore and rivers to find interesting items to photograph.

“By sharing my images with the world, I hope that I am bringing enjoyment to people who cannot go out and see for themselves,” he said.

His exhibit will be displayed from March 7 through April 2 at the society’s exhibition space, in the foyer of Vancouver Island University. The exhibit will open with a reception from 7 to 9 pm on Thursday, March 7. Chabot will be in attendance.
