Annual event concludes with performances at Powell River Recreation Complex

qathet Festival of the Performing Arts wrapped up its 80th anniversary on March 9 with the annual Grand Concert at Evergreen Theatre in Powell River Recreation Complex.

The festival, which was held for the first time in 1945, featured six disciplines: choral and voice, dance, piano, speech arts, strings and band/instrumental. Selected performers were chosen to take part in the Grand Concert.

Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Powell River since 2003, the festival has an organizing committee comprised of Rotarians and community members.
