Powell River Horseshoe Pitching Club held their last event of 2015 on August 22 at Powell River Recreation Complex’s horseshoe courts against out-of-town challengers.

The top local pitchers in their level were Lorraine Hubick, Jim Hoffman and Neil Groat in Mixed B; Betty Blacklock and Sandra MacLean in Mixed C; Harry Bey, Leonard MacLean and Frank Hubick in Mixed D; Sandra Hanson, Ed Skrodolis and Les Ortloff in Mixed E; Phil Russell and Sylvia Sheldon in Mixed F; Betty Russell and Lillian Bourassa in Mixed G; and Gary Thorpe, Mike Gerela and Irene Smith in Mixed H.

On September 5 and 6, 13 local pitchers competed with 80 others throughout the province in Victoria.

Top local pitchers in the event were Elisa Fisk in Junior Girl; Serge Dube in Men’s Class D; Carol Skrodolis, Margie Woloschuk and Sylvia Sheldon in Women’s Classes A C and E; and Frank Hubick, Ed Skrodolis and Harry Bey in Elder’s Class F.
