With the holidays around the corner, Western Forest Products (WFP) is embracing the spirit of giving with a donation of $100,000 to help provide meals and toys this season.

According to a WFP media release, by partnering with more than 30 charitable organizations and First Nations communities, the financial contribution will benefit those in need across the areas where the company operates in BC and Washington State.

“We are pleased to extend our year-long commitment to communities with this seasonal tradition again this year,” stated Steven Hofer, WFP’s president and chief executive officer. “By partnering with community groups across the areas where we operate, we are able to lend a helping hand to those in need.”

Powell River Action Centre Food Bank has received $5,000 from WFP’s holiday donation.

The release stated that the company’s donations to individual groups vary in amount corresponding to community size or needs and continue its long-term commitment of investing in community needs in the areas where its employees live and work.

WFP is an integrated forest products company building a margin-focused log and lumber business to compete successfully in global softwood markets, the release stated.
