Funds raised at the 2022 Steve Steele Boxing Day charity match were divided up and presented to three organizations: Powell River Action Centre Food Bank, Salvation Army Powell River and Brooks Secondary School (the latter going toward students attending an exchange program in Germany).

On hand for the recent presentation were [from left] food bank manager Savannah Dee; Mike Verdiel, who coached Powell River Villa Alumni for the game and was recognized for his volunteerism in the local soccer community; Salvation Army Powell River community services coordinator Karie McQuarrie; Judith Langham and Drew Ferguson, representing their mother, Bea, who was also honoured for her contributions to local soccer as part of the event; and Valerie Harding and Dave McMaster, who suited up for Stevie’s Steelers to play Villa in the annual fundraiser event.

Each organization received $880.
