I wish to send my most heartfelt congratulations to the graduates of 2021. What a hurdle of a year they have completed.

While this marks a milestone in their lives, it is only the beginning of a journey of adventure and growth. This class has the unique quality of having graduated through a global pandemic – a feat that has no doubt equipped these students with resilience in an especially pivotal time of life.

I have great confidence that they have gained a higher sense of compassion for their neighbours and a greater strength to overcome the challenges brought on by fear, loneliness and uncertainty. Most importantly, they have undoubtedly learned that hard times come, and then they go.

Despite all the disruptions over the last year, I wish for this year’s grads to take these valuable lessons into the future and build on them. Be better and stronger because of it. And never give up.

I truly look forward to this class of 2021 building a beautiful future for all of us. God bless you all.
