Cam’s Jam Tour will be in Powell River Thursday, August 20, not for blackberry preserves but to see some bike jumps and tricks.
California trick and freerider Cam McCaul, famous for jumps and cycling tricks will be in Powell River as part of a celebration of trick-based freestyle riding.
McCaul, famous for a 78-foot backflip at Red Bull Rampage in 2013, had to cancel a recent event in Colorado because of appendicitis, but is all set to rock Powell River Bike and Skate Park.
“We want local riders to come out and shine,” said Chester Jones from Alpine Bike Parks, one of the groups who designed and built Powell River’s bike park. “It’s cool to come back to parks that we’ve built and celebrate what it’s all about.”
McCaul will be arriving in Powell River after attending Crankworks, a downhill freeriding event in Whistler.
Cam’s Jam Tour will be at the bike park outside Powell River Recreation Complex August 20, from 3 pm until dusk.
