BC Ferries changes schedule to accommodate connections

Saltery Bay to Earls Cove service more customer-friendly
BC Ferries changes schedule to accommodate connections

BC Ferries is making schedule adjustments to the Saltery Bay to Earls Cove schedule taking effect December 30, 2013 in an effort to improve customer service.

An expanded schedule was implemented on the route in October to improve performance of the relief vessel, the Queen of Chilliwack. On the October expanded schedule the first sailing departed at 4:15 am and the last sailing sailed at 11 pm.

After operating the ferries on the schedule for the past several months, BC Ferries has analyzed the usage data and has opted to shorten the length of the operational day by tightening the schedule starting December 30. The same number of round trips will be maintained, however the first sailing will not leave as early as on the previous schedule and the last sailing is not as late. The new departure times will be more customer-friendly and will accommodate the same number of connections with the Langdale to Horseshoe Bay route.

The Island Sky will be returning to service on the Saltery Bay to Earls Cove route in mid-April 2014, and will resume the regular schedule.

The following off-peak schedule will be in effect from December 30, 2013 through mid-April 2014:
