Powell River RCMP seek public's help in bear-spraying of dog

Suspect also threatened two females walking with canines in Manson connector area

At approximately 7:10 pm on April 3, two female residents were walking their dogs on the Manson Avenue connector just south of Penticton Street when a male suspect bear-sprayed one of the dogs in the face. The dog was off leash but was reported to be right beside the owner and not acting aggressively. The male then threatened to spray both females before leaving southbound along the Manson connector.

Powell River RCMP is requesting the public’s help in identifying the suspect. Anyone who may be able to identify the male or anyone with any information on this is asked to contact the police at 604.485.6255.

The male is described as approximately 70 years old, five-feet, 10-inches tall with an average build, short gray hair and clean shaven face, wearing blue jeans and a red plaid jacket. He was walking a black Boston terrier. The investigation is ongoing.
