A Vancouver-based company has started an express bus service to Nanaimo and communities south of Nanaimo and Victoria.

Islandlink, a company that provides alternate bus service on Vancouver Island has expanded its operations this summer to pick travellers up at Comox’s Little River ferry terminal.

The transportation company operates 10-passenger buses twice daily and brings passengers to Nanaimo where they can transfer buses to reach Victoria.

The service started Sunday, June 22 and will run until Monday, October 13, 2014.

“This service will cut hours off the travel time between Powell River and Victoria compared to the alternate service though Vancouver,” said Phillip Morgan, Islandlink’s owner.
