Blackberry Festival is returning to Marine Avenue in August 2022 after a two-year absence.

Marine Area Business Association (MABA) is once again hosting the annual Blackberry Festival on August 19, after a two-year absence due to the pandemic.

“Blackberry Festival is one of the best loved events of this region,” stated MABA president Ian Fleming in a media release. “We are sure that many people will be thrilled to know that they can enjoy the festival again this year.”

The release stated that MABA is working to get approvals in place to ensure the 2022 festival has a similar format to events in the past.

“After two years of the pandemic, we feel this is something the community needs,” stated Fleming. “For a few hours, we’re able to come together, experience great food, drink, entertainment and vendors, and we’re pleased that the fireworks, sponsored by Quality Foods, will once again cap off the evening.”

The release stated that once the major logistical hurdles are cleared, vendor applications and other information will be posted on the MABA Facebook page at facebook.com/marineareabusinessassociation.

Anyone interested in volunteering to help plan and organize the festival can contact MABA via its Facebook page or by email at [email protected].
