An education campaign across BC is being launched to help keep pedestrians safe this fall and winter when vehicular accidents increase significantly.

An education campaign across BC is being launched to help keep pedestrians safe this fall and winter when vehicular accidents increase significantly.

According to statistics from Insurance Corporation of BC (ICBC) on average 76 per cent more pedestrians are injured when involved with vehicle accidents from November to January every year when conditions are dark and weather is poor.

ICBC and community policing volunteers throughout BC will be handing out safety reflectors and tips at events to help educate pedestrians about the importance of being visible to drivers in dark, fall conditions.
