Chair reelected by qathet Regional District board of directors

RECEIVES ACCLAMATION: Patrick Brabazon will serve his eighth consecutive term as chair of the qathet Regional District board of directors.

Electoral Area A Director Patrick Brabazon has been acclaimed as chair of the qathet Regional District (qRD) board of directors for the year 2022, until the next municipal election.

At the inaugural meeting of qRD board of directors, held on November 25, the board appointed Brabazon to the role of chair, pursuant to provisions prescribed in the Local Government Act, according to a media release. This distinction marks the eighth year in a row the board has looked to Brabazon for leadership.

“I am humbled to be reappointed chair of the qathet Regional District board,” stated Brabazon. “It is an honour to serve this community and I am continually impressed by the dedication of our hardworking board of directors and staff who strive for excellence in support of our region.”

qRD serves the rural areas from Lund to Saltery Bay, including City of Powell River, Texada, Savary and Lasqueti islands and provides some services, through contract, to Tla’amin Nation.
