Drivers in Powell River will notice a new, advance-turn signal that was turned on at the intersection of Alberni Street and Marine Avenue on Thursday, May 31.
“The work is now complete,” said City of Powell River director of infrastructure Tor Birtig. “We have it hooked up and operational. Right now, they're just running through some final testing to ensure there's no conflict and the timing is appropriate.”
The traffic light was installed to increase safety and ease frustration of drivers travelling south on Marine and making the left-hand turn to go up Alberni.
Birtig said the project came in on budget.
