At the July 28 qathet Regional District (qRD) board meeting, directors received information into a report on Lasqueti Island volunteer fire department honorariums.
Directors also directed staff to develop a comprehensive policy to inform all qRD volunteer fire departments, taking into account the unique differences among fire departments.
Several pieces of correspondence had been sent to qRD from Lasqueti Islanders regarding the volunteer fire department there, which was discussed at the July 13 finance committee meeting.
