1. April 16

Westview residential area

Minor thefts from vehicles continue to be a problem in Powell River. Four more thefts were reported to the RCMP in the following areas: the 3900 block of Gordon Avenue, 6900 block of Egmont Street and the 4300 block of Westview Avenue. In one instance a house key was jammed into the ignition which caused damage. In another, 75 frozen lamb chops were stolen from a freezer which was in a carport next to a vehicle which was rummaged through.

2. April 20

7500 block Highway 101

Police responded to a report of a break and enter into a residence. The homeowners had returned from a three-week trip and discovered the crime. Entry into the house was gained through a window. Once inside the suspect(s) went through the entire house. Electronics, jewellery and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen.
