500 block Highway 101
At approximately 11 pm police were conducting a road check when an officer observed a vehicle perform a U-turn 300 metres before the road check. The vehicle was pulled over and the 48-year-old female driver displayed signs of impairment. She registered a fail on the roadside screening device and was subsequently issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition. She will also appear in Powell River provincial court to answer to the charge of driving while prohibited.
2. July 29
Marine Avenue at Hemlock Street
At 1 am an officer on patrol came across numerous damaged signs. The signs appeared to have been shaken loose from their footings and thrown into the roadway.
