1. February 10
Field Street and Joyce Avenue
A 1997 pickup truck was stopped after cutting through a field. After speaking to the driver an odour of liquor was detected. A breath sample confirmed the driver had a blood alcohol level of over the legal limit. The vehicle was subsequently impounded for three days and the driver’s licence was seized.
2. February 13 and 14
7100 block Nootka Street
The gate located at an education facility was damaged. It is believed the damage was caused by a vehicle. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to please contact Powell River RCMP at 604.485.6255 or CrimeStoppers at 1.800.222.8477 (TIPS).
3. February 15
5300 block Marine Avenue
When a vehicle was stopped, it was determined the driver was an ‘N’ Driver who had consumed alcohol and had too many passengers in the vehicle. The driver was issued with a 12-hour driving prohibition along with a violation ticket for driving contrary to their driver’s licence restrictions.
