Powell River Villa Soccer Club returned to action on Saturday, June 21, for the first of a two-game Brewers Cup competition versus Campbell River SC.
In game one, hosted by Beach Fire Brewing in Campbell River, Villa overcame a 1-0 deficit in the first half courtesy of a pair of goals by Tylor Cramb. There was no scoring in the second half, resulting in a 2-1 win for visiting Villa.
Game two is scheduled for Saturday, July 5, at Timberlane Park, with Townsite Brewing hosting. Kickoff will be at 1 pm.
The last time local fans saw Villa on the pitch at home was in late March, when the club hosted and lost 5-3 to Vic West in the final game of the Vancouver Island Soccer League season. Vic West finished at the top of the table in Division 1, while Villa finished in the relegation zone and will compete in Division 2 next season.
VISL regular season play for 2025/2026 gets underway in September.
