1. December 29

6900 block Hammond Street

Police responded to a report of a break and enter. A 33-year-old male entered the house shortly after the owner left. The son of the owner was still in the residence and confronted the male. Based on the information provided by the witness, the male was arrested and is facing charges of break and enter. The male has been remanded in custody until appearance in court Wednesday, January 4.

2. December 30

4500 block Marine Avenue

Police received a report of an intoxicated male. Police attended and located an intoxicated male who was having trouble walking. The male was arrested for being intoxicated in public and lodged in cells until he sobered up.

3. December 30

5800 block Aspen Avenue

Police responded to a report of theft from two vehicles. Sometime during the previous night the vehicles were entered and a purse, children’s toys, and Honda brake parts were taken. A few of the items were recovered, but the purse and brake parts are still unaccounted for. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to please contact Powell River RCMP or CrimeStoppers at 1.800.222.8477 (TIPS).

4. January 1

Willingdon Avenue

Police stopped a vehicle after it was driven through a stop sign. The driver of the vehicle showed signs of impairment and admitted to consuming alcohol. The 30-year-old female driving the vehicle then provided a breath sample which was over the legal limit. She is currently facing charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
