1. January 23
6200 block Lund Street
At approximately 11:15 am police were patrolling in the area. The officer attempted to stop a vehicle driven by a person believed to be an unlicensed driver. When the officer activated his emergency lights the vehicle failed to stop. The Dodge Neon was located minutes later at a residence in the 5700 block of Marine Avenue. The 28-year-old driver from Powell River was charged with failing to stop for police and the vehicle was impounded.
2. January 24
7100 block Duncan Street
Police received a report of a stolen ride-on lawn mower taken from a business. The mower was last seen between October and November 2013 parked behind the business. The mower is described as an Ariens 927 series, eight horsepower engine and a 28-inch cutting deck, serial number 802886.
3. January 25
Marine Avenue at Willingdon Beach
At approximately 2 am an officer conducted a vehicle stop. The driver displayed signs of alcohol consumption. Two samples of his breath were provided into a roadside screening device of which both registered fails. The 56-year-old Powell River man was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.
